Who can we treat?

Skin types 1-3 treatments and 4 can be treated with caution. Clients with permanent acne will benefit from the treatment. The best results are achieved on inflammatory acne- best known as those red, aching, pimples. It is important that there is very little pigmentation or sun damage in the area being treated otherwise too much light will be absorbed by darker complexions.

Does it hurt?

Tolerance of pain is very individual from person to person. Many patients describe the sensation as a warming sensation similar to the feeling one has after a day on the beach.

Do I need to take special precautions before and after treatments?

The Ellipse acne treatment is a combination therapy. We recommend you use adaplene (Differin or Redap) cream or gel. Sun exposure should be avoided 30 days post and prior treatment.

What can I expect?

Clients may notice some general redness on the face following the treatment pigmented areas may appear darker and eventually disappear. Because the bacteria is difficult to eradicate completely your doctor will probably recommend that you continue using adaplene cream or gel some months after the treatment has ended. A course of 4 Ellipse treatments is recommended with 3 week intervals.
